Who We Are

We are all about Jesus

Every church community has a focus or goal that defines them. Some are defined by ministries, missions, small groups, causes, theological beliefs, or even the “vibe” when you walk in.

Our goal, and the thing that defines us, is Jesus. We want more of Him and more of His presence. We are obsessed with Jesus and what He is doing among us. Jesus is the “celebrity” that we are all drawn to when we gather together.

We have found that the world is full of stress, pain, and disconnection. In Jesus, we have found freedom and joy. In fact, Jesus said, “keep company with Me, and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Maybe you’re feeling stressed and disconnected too? Why not come and pursue Jesus with us?

As you pursue Him, you can trade out your stress and learn how to live freely and lightly with Jesus.

That’s our purpose: We help people pursue Jesus.

our four priorities

  • SEEK HIS FACE

Intentional Pursuit of the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy.” (Psalm 16:11)

What are you hungry for? What are you seeking and pursuing? Here at MC, our highest and most important pursuit is Jesus. He is the path of life and in His presence is full joy! He has commanded us to seek His face - relationship with Him - over everything else!

  • GIFTED AND GOING FOR IT!

    Equipping in Spiritual Gifts

“Pursue love, and earnestly desire spiritual gifts.” (1 Corinthians 14:1)

We believe everyone who follows Jesus is gifted with His Spirit and spiritual gifts. We don’t all have the same gifts, so we need each other to work together - like a body with many parts. Here at MC, we want to teach, encourage, equip, and give space for people to learn and practice how to use their spiritual gifts for the glory of Jesus!

  • WHO’S NEXT?

Culture of Development, Training, and Discipleship

“Follow me, as I follow Christ.” (1 Corinthians 11:1)

Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples. Disciples are followers who are learning to experience Jesus and become more like Him. Here at MC, we want to help everyone - especially the next generation - to learn how to walk with Jesus and become more like Him.

  • LIVE OPEN-HANDED

Resisting a Spirit of Control and Living a Life of Adventurous Dependance

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight .” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

We are learning it is good to make our plans, but that it is Jesus who is the Boss of our lives and we must stay open to His leadership and plan above our own. This posture allows us to explore with Jesus as He shows us what His plans are for our lives. Like Abraham, we hear the call, “go to the land that I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1) Abraham didn’t know where he was going, he only knew to follow the leadership of God without knowing the end from the beginning. Here at MC we want this posture of Kingdom exploration, just like the heroes of our faith!

Our Beliefs

THE BIBLE
We believe that God has perfectly revealed who he is and what he commands in the Bible.

THE TRINITY
We believe that God is a complex unity. There is only one true God, but he exists eternally as three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

JESUS
We believe that Jesus is fully God and fully man. Through his life, death, and resurrection, he did all that was necessary to make salvation possible.

HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God. Through his ministry, he points us to Jesus and empowers our lives.

THE GOSPEL
We believe the gospel is the good news that God saves sinners through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.

THE WORK OF CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ, as our representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. His atoning death and victorious resurrection constitute the only ground for salvation.

ORIGINAL SIN
We believe that, through Adam, sin has broken all humanity and creation, leaving the world in need of salvation.

SALVATION
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

CHRISTIAN LIVING
We believe that God's justifying grace must not be separated from His sanctifying power and purpose. God commands us to love Him supremely and others sacrificially, and to live out our faith with care for one another, compassion toward the poor and justice for the oppressed.

SATAN
We believe Satan hates God's church and is determined to crush it. Satan was defeated at the cross even as we wait for his final judgment.

THE CHURCH
We believe the Church is Jesus' body on the earth. Her mission is to make Jesus known through preaching the gospel, caring for the poor, and serving our neighbors.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS
We believe that the Holy Spirit continues to give Jesus' followers all the spiritual gifts to encourage believers and save those who do not yet believe.

BAPTISM AND COMMUNION
We believe God has given us baptism and communion to strengthen Christians' lives and celebrate their inclusion into God's family.

MARRIAGE
We believe the pattern for sex and marriage was established by God as he officiated Adam and Eve's male-female union in Eden.

THE IMAGE OF GOD
We believe that all humans are equal in dignity and value, bearing the image of God from the moment of conception, regardless of ethnicity or gender.

HEAVEN AND HELL
We believe that followers of Jesus will spend eternity with Jesus in his kingdom. Everyone who rejects Jesus will be punished with eternal separation from the presence of God.

JESUS’ RETURN
We believe that Jesus will return to both restore creation and judge the living and the dead.
