Our Vibe

In MC’s Kingdom Kids ministry, It is our hope that we surround our kids with adults who love Jesus and who love them so they can have an authentic experience with the Lord on Sunday mornings. 

You do not need to be a Bible scholar or even need to have any prior teaching experience! 

(now for the fine print…)

*Background checks are required (initiated and paid by MC).

*When applicable, all volunteers need to be in their spot, ready to go 15 minutes before the beginning of service to the end of service.  Ex, 8:45-10:35 or 10:45-12:35.

*All volunteers are in charge of switching or getting a replacement if sick or out of town. 

*No one needs to be stuck in a position that drains them.  Feel free to try out new positions and find your niche!

Position Descriptions

Lead Teacher - The Lead Teacher received the lesson plan the Tuesday before they are scheduled to serve. All supplies mentioned in the lesson are provided and if you want anything else, staff can provide! You have the freedom to adjust the lesson as you see fit. You are responsible for knowing the material and investing in our kids, creating a place where they can experience Jesus and grow closer to Him.

Teacher’s Assistant - The Teaching Assistant helps the Lead Teacher during class: helping with things like crafts, maybe reading the Bible story, engaging with kids to help them feel welcome and loved. You will receive a lesson plan the Tuesday before class if you’d like to get familiar with what will be covered although this position does not require prep work. 

Supervisor - You are the first person families see when they arrive. You will greet families, help them sign in and answer any questions they may have. This is a great position for someone who wants to serve but isn’t quite ready to be inside a classroom! You are in charge of security: you remain at your station and would be the first to alert teachers if something is wrong.  You may be asked to assist teachers if they need copies or for you to communicate with a parent.

Kingdom Training Teacher - You lead the kids in a 20 minute Kingdom Training time where we practice worship, prayer and listening to God’s voice. You’ll be back in the main service before worship ends!

Substitutes - Sometimes our volunteers get sick or are out of town and are unable to find someone to switch with. In this case, we need LOTS of subs who can fill in when needed. We need subs for all areas: the Nursery, PK, Early and Upper Elementary teachers and Supervisors.

Creatives - Occasionally projects come up and we need extra help. For example, crafting, sewing, photography, woodworking or fixing our resident knight in shining armor!
