Last week: Give lavishly.

This week: Be a servant.

(Turn your clocks back Saturday night!)

I really enjoyed Rob Urbanski’s message on generous giving last Sunday, especially the picture of having liberal amounts of food poured into one’s robes!

Rob’s illustration of Chipotle employees piling goodies into a burrito seemed to have struck a chord – there were dozens of MCC’ers eating at the local Chipotle after the service! :)

The message had a very important point – if we think like we own stuff we may be tempted to be stingy – but if we think like stewards of God’s stuff – we are far more likely to be generous.

Our Father in heaven declares that everything belongs to him and that we are only temporarily entrusted with his possessions. God will evaluate us with the same measure we use to treat others.

So, let’s pile it on for the Master’s glory!

We can’t take our wealth with us, but we can use it here to send treasure ahead into eternity. That’s what faith-filled generosity looks like – converting today’s currency into our eternal L-1233 accounts!

A Part of the Church of Cincinnati

Last Sunday: It is more blessed to give!
This Sunday: Don’t be envious or compare!

Beloved Church

When I consider the cost of what Jesus did for me on the Cross, I am brought to tears. The sheer passion of his love sets my heart on fire.

I realized many years ago on a hillside in China that the Love of Jesus for me – in the face of my sin and wickedness – was a Love that deserves my all.

I want to spend the rest of my life helping others to see this truth – so that Jesus might receive the full reward for his suffering.

Like Abraham, who was blessed in order to be a blessing to others, we who know Jesus have been blessed to give – to walk out the same love by living and sharing the Good News of Jesus with others.

We have literally been blessed to give. May we see the many facets of Love and generosity as we finish our study in the commands of Jesus. May we be transformed by the perfect Love of Jesus.

My prayer for this series continues: that we’d be a Church totally consecrated to give 100% for the God who only gives 100%.

In the Generosity of Jesus with you, Denis
