Men’s Retreat - September (17-19) at the Higher Ground retreat center (about 40 minutes away in Indiana). The retreat is a joint effort with several churches and will be centered on deeper discipleship in the presence of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This will be a great time of brotherhood, friendship, and good old fashioned male bonding. The food will be great. There will be gifted worship leadership and teaching. There will be a number of folks who operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, so that will be a learning opportunity for those of us who are newer at it.  RSVP to Denis who will do his best to add guys as spots come available.

     I just finished reading a wonderful gift, Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis, and have been thinking about what “real” is. Obviously not just what we can see and touch — think of wind, and love, for example. Nor just what we can experience — Julius Caesar has not been experienced by any of us, but do we doubt that he was real?
     I rarely have (or make) the time to think and reflect, and I’m sure my spirit is the poorer for it. If you, or someone you know, is in the same boat, I have two treats for you to consider:
