We’d like to encourage you to commit to read the New Testament this year. You can accomplish this by reading one chapter a day, five days a week. For those who are regularly attending our Sunday services you might consider adding one chapter of Isaiah to track with our Sunday study.

Pick up the Daily Wheel and with a reading schedule from the Connect Desk in our lobby.

We will begin in the Book of Luke. Reading a chapter a day for 5 days of the week you will have complete the Book of Luke just before the end of the month – Good job!

We will not have worship services on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

This gives you the perfect opportunity to worship at home with your family or friends!

At-Home Worship Suggestions:

  1. Prayerfully assign each member of the group a job to do ahead of time.
  2. Opening Prayer – Ask God to be with your group.
  3. Choose, set up, and play one or two worship songs.
  4. Scripture Readings:
    Christmas Day – Luke 2:1-20          New Year’s Day – Colossians 1:15-20
  5. Share together the meaning of the Scriptures and what we will do to obey.
  6. Optional – Celebrate Communion together. Suggested reading – Luke 22:14-30.
  7. Close with prayer (1 person or anyone who would like can take a turn).
  8. Optional on New Year’s Day – The head of the household blesses his family using Numbers 6:22-27.

We look forward to hearing your God stories about these worship experiences.

May the Lord bless these special times together with family and friends.

Join us for delightful, family-friendly services presenting the Christmas Story readings from the Gospels.
There is worship music featuring tradition Christmas carols.
The Chapel is located on the corner of Oak and Chestnut.
Service times are 4:30 – 5:30 & 6:30pm
It’s the perfect way to celebrate Christmas!

Oh, while we have your attention you might like to note these dates:

Men United: Chasing God’s Heart

We believe the Spirit is calling us to be united, even with our differences; we can only do this under the Cross of Christ.

This is why we all need to be men chasing His heart.

The men from New Mission Church will be joining us for this event.

So come and eat some great food!

We look forward to seeing you there!

MID-WEEK

Love is the most excellent way.

The greatest of all virtues is love.

Follow the way of love.
Miss a service? Listen to the Podcast on the homepage. Come back in 1-2 days if last Sunday’s is not up yet.

Beloved,

I’m so thankful for Mike Cambron’s message on the supremacy of love from 1 Corinthians Chapter 13.

What a vivid and compelling reminder at a time of growing unrest and hatred around us.

I’m so glad we don’t have to muster this love ourselves, but that in Jesus, we have the very love for him that the Father has! (John 17:26)

May this love flow from us to all those around us.

In the life and love of Jesus with you, Denis

MID-WEEK

Do you know you are a gift to all of us at MCC?

We cannot be all we are destined to be unless you know, develop and use your gifts!

May you know the thrill of God’s design and destiny for your life!

Miss a service? Listen to the Podcast. Come back in 1-2 days if last Sunday’s is not up yet.

Gifted Ones,

I’m excited to see how God will lead us all to seek the greater gifts and to use our gifts more fully for his glory.

I love that the Father, the Son and the Spirit have worked together to give the church all we need to bring the Kingdom of God to the earth.

In Romans 12, God the Father gives the gifts of faith, prophecy, serving, teaching, encouragement, giving, leadership and mercy.

In Ephesians 4, Jesus gives us apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds or pastors, and teachers.

In 1 Corinthians 12, the Holy Spirit gives messages of knowledge, faith, healing, miraculous powers, prophecy, distinguishing between spirits, tongues or languages, and interpretation of tongues.

There is overlap in these lists of gifts, and there are others mentioned elsewhere – but isn’t it a great comfort that we have been blessed by God in these ways?

Let’s be thankful and generously use what God has given to us for his glory!

In the life and love of Jesus with you, Denis

THANKSGIVING MEAL OUTREACH – Here’s Some NEW WAYS to CONNECT with Families!

  • Contact Paul Raz to connect with a local Mariemont School family. You can purchase groceries for their meal and deliver them personally at a mutually convenient time. You will have time to pray with the family and invite them to come on Sunday or go to the Tree Lighting on December 10th or attend one of our Christmas Eve services (4:30, 5:30, 6:30) at the Chapel.
  • Don’t live close to Mariemont? Then ask the Lord to direct you to a family in need in your community. You can purchase groceries and bless them with a meal, prayer and and invitation to MCC and the Christmas events, if practical.
  • Invite a family or individual to share your Thanksgiving meal. Many people spend the holiday alone and they would be blessed by an invitation to your Thanksgiving meal. You can also invite your guest to join you on Sunday or to attend any of our Christmas events.

Why the Change? For the past several years we have received donations from our congregation, and purchased Thanksgiving boxes from Kroger for distribution to families. Over the past two years, we have found that we were unable to connect with the families. Many did not answer their phones or were away from home on delivery day. This reduced the opportunity of personal connection and ministry. So for this year, we are recommending that each MCC family consider one of the options above.

Thanks for living and loving like Jesus!
